DISAPPOINTMENT!

I saw the movie on opening day because I really was excited about the premise, the story, the history, the action and the hype! I had been looking forward to seeing this movie about gambling, black jack, card counting, beating the casinos, and a true story.

There have been many great movies about our passion including: Rounders, Casino, Casino Royale, Bob the Gambler, The Cooler, and Lost in America. And given the subject material, I was hoping to include 21 - The Movie in my “thumbs up” list.

But, I’m sorry to say… I cannot!

Suffice it to say that the studio description states that the movie is “loosely” based upon the true story of six MIT students who taught themselves how to count cards, advance that knowledge into a team concept, and take the Las Vegas casinos for $Millions! The book is called “Bringing Down The House”. The keyword to their description is: LOOSELY! Yikes - it’s not even close!
