PORTLAND, Ore.—Sensing his best years may be drawing to a close, [tag-self]Greg Oden[/tag-self] is considering hanging up his sneakers for good and opting out of the last seven years of his contract with the [tag-self]Portland Trail Blazers[/tag-self]. While many analysts thought the seven-foot center might retire in the coming years, most thought he would play up to three seasons in the [tag-self]NBA[/tag-self] before calling it quits.
OK… I’ve held my tongue (or pen) long enough… I’m sick about the TBs fortunes. First, let me tell you that I live here in Portland, and I try to be a good fan in all situations… BUT, this Greg Oden thing has me perplexed!
Of course I’m sad, of course I’m angry, of course I’ve made the comparison of the ancient story of Sam Bowie…
If there’s a bright side to this tragedy… it’s that it will make the TBs richer following next year’s draft. Look, they are doomed now to be bottom feeders again… they gave away their top player to make room for the new Big Guy (Greg Oden).
When summer’s in its last stages, something great happens… [tag-self]Football[/tag-self]!
And with it comes numerous opportunities; [tag-self]parties[/tag-self], [tag-self]food[/tag-self], [tag-self]TV[/tag-self], [tag-self]wagers[/tag-self], and all of it… Exciting!
So, here is my “[tag-self]recipe[/tag-self]” for fun… grab some of these goodies and the fun never stops!
Washington D.C. – The Poker Players Alliance (PPA), headquartered in San Francisco, will soon be changing locations and leadership. In the coming weeks, the PPA will move its headquarters to Washington D.C. where the organization can be more central as it continues to fight to clarify federal laws that impact the rights of Internet poker players.
Michael Bolcerek has stepped down as president of the PPA and will remain in San Francisco with his family to pursue other opportunities in the Bay Area. John Pappas has assumed the position of Executive Director of the PPA and will lead the organization’s efforts in Washington. Prior to taking an in-house role as the organization’s Vice President of Government Affairs in May, Pappas served as an outside consultant to the PPA since 2005. Former New York Senator Alfonse D’Amato will continue to serve as Chairman of the PPA.
“This is an exciting time for the PPA and our members. The PPA has become an influential force fighting for the rights of poker players to enjoy this game of skill. There is wide support and momentum in the U.S. Congress to enact sensible legislation to regulate online poker and provide the necessary safeguards to all players. It is vital that the PPA centralize its efforts in D.C. so we can best serve the interests of our 660,000 plus members,” said Senator Alfonse D’Amato.
There are many systems available for the Roulette Bettor. I will write about a few of them – but with this warning: Few games in the Casino have worse odds than Roulette. Played for a long period of time, Roulette will break you. However, it can be a successful betting opportunity if you keep it to a short period of time.
That being said, this system is hot. You could argue that you’ll have nearly one-third of the wheel covered with only 5 units bet.
The system calls for bets on 10 numbers. These numbers are spread evenly throughout the Roulette wheel, and use just 5 chips. The idea behind this system is that all parts of the wheel are covered. It doesn’t matter what part of the wheel hits. We have 10 chances in 37 (or 38 in the case of an American (00) wheel) of getting a hit.
In a earlier article, I wrote that ALL you need to do while playing Baccarat is to decide whether to bet “Banker” or “Player”. I advised against betting on a tie, so that left ONLY that one decision to make.
Either place your bet in the area marked “Banker”, and if the bank wins, so do you.
Or, place your bet in the area marked “Player”, and if the player wins, you do also. Note: the ONLY difference in pay-out is that the Casino takes a 5% commission on all winning “Banker” bets, and none on winning “Player” bets.
“Ok, I’m fed up with losing at Poker. I mean, I have a decent
winning percentage, but nowhere near what I think I deserve. Am I
thinking too much of myself? I have read books, and I do practice
online, and I win when I play at the lower levels.
But, I want to win at the higher levels. I want to win tournaments!
What am I doing wrong?”
So, my answer to Bob and any of you with this same “problem” is this:
I always know when I’m at a table playing with a fish. He’s the guy
that keeps going all-in. Sure he steals a few pots, and maybe even
gets called, then sucks out and doubles up. Playing like this is known
as “loose – aggressive”, and it’s generally not the way to go.
There is a time and place for everything. “Loose – aggressive” plays
well when you’re short handed or heads – up. The rest of the time,
you should be playing “tight – aggressive”.
When the other players spot a loose guy, they sit back and let him
win a few blinds, then take all his chips when he goes all-in with a
crap hand. When making a big bet while playing Texas holdem, timing
and table image have a lot to do with winning or losing.
I came across a new site the other day, Casino Cash Cow and as
you may know I am very skeptical when it comes to sites that claim
to be able to beat roulette or blackjack.
But I thought I would read it anyway and see what new piece of
rubbish was out, claiming to always beat the house etc.
To my surprise this guy actually admits that it is not possible to beat
roulette or blackjack! This was different, I was intrigued and had to
find out…
