The Gambling Debate Rages On But The End is Near!

Gambling Law, Sports Betting, Online Gambling, My POV No Comments

I’ve been away for some time now, and I’ve been hoping I could return to this blog with some great news.

The news is not great, but it IS good!

The battle for reversing the UIGEA is heating up, and the positive outcome is within sight.

Eliot Spitzer Terrorized Online Gambling Industry

Gambling Law, Online Gambling, Casino Gambling, My POV 2 Comments

You’re a gambler! You believe we should be left free to enjoy what we want! There are those however who believe we are incapable of deciding for ourselves and we must be therefore “protected” from ourselves. Occasionally (but not frequently enough), those “do-gooders” get their just rewards… public exposure, humiliation, and the slammer!

Did you giggle at the embarrassing revelation of Eliot Spitzer’s high, HIGH expenditures on prostitutes? Did you get the full blast satisfaction of karma at it’s finest? You’re a gambler! You MUST read who was instrumental in - no, make that leading the assault against online gambling… if you didn’t know, or cannot guess…

It was none other than that lying, conniving, holier-than-thou, pillar of public self-protection advocate, and “law-abiding (ahme) citizen”: Eliot Spitzer… ptueee - I spit his name - lol. The following article is reprinted here just because YOU HAVE TO READ IT TO BELIEVE IT!!!! With my thanks to those who wrote and printed this ahead of me, I’M very appreciative!

That seems to be the message we’re getting from the politician behind the “Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act… read the following from the editor of CasinoGamblingWeb.com

Representative congressman from Roanoke, Virgina, Bob Goodlatte, who is responsible for writing the details of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) - which bans illegal forms of Internet gambling and has an exception for online horse race betting - has accepted more than $35,000 in lobbying money from the horse race betting industry, it was revealed today by Perspectives Weekly.

Uncle Sam wants to dip his fingers into the Gambling Pie!

Gambling Law, Sports Betting, Online Gambling, Casino Gambling No Comments

Oh Crap! If the politicians can’t get rid of Gambling, then they’ll just tax the hell out of it!

Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) and Jim McDermott (D-WA) have introduced the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act and Internet Gambling Regulation and Tax Enforcement Act, companion pieces of legislation, to regulate and tax Internet gambling activity.

The legislation would require licensed Internet gambling operators to put in place safeguards to protect against underage and compulsive gambling and ensure the integrity of financial transactions. Taxation of Internet gambling is expected to generate between $6 billion and $25 billion in revenues for the U.S. Treasury in the first five years of enactment.

Hmmmm. safeguards against compulsive gambling???? If I owned a big Casino, I could sure use that Gov’t help! If someone were winning too much, I’d call him “compulsive” and ban him! WooHoo!

Thank goodness someone is taking good care of me. Obviously, I can’t take care of myself! At least in Ohio…

Today, Oct 25, 2007 - Columbus, Governor Strickland today signed a law banning certain slot machines from “his” state. Oh good for him, good for the people of Ohio, and good for all free-thinking adults who may someday pass through Ohio.

What would we do without these crusaders who know what is best for us? We are not able to decide for ourselves, so someone has to do it - someone MUCH smarter than we!
