On Friday, Representatives Barney Frank and Ron Paul introduced a new bill aimed at squashing the foolish UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006).
Their Bill would prohibit the Department of The Treasury and Federal Reserve System from proposing, prescribing or implementing any regulations related to the current ban on Internet gambling, as required by the UIGEA

You may know that Mass is in a battle for expanded Casino operations (slots). The Governor has wisely promoted adding 3 Casinos to his state… and that has brought out the aforementioned Jerks!

Representative congressman from Roanoke, Virgina, Bob Goodlatte, who is responsible for writing the details of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) – which bans illegal forms of Internet gambling and has an exception for online horse race betting – has accepted more than $35,000 in lobbying money from the horse race betting industry, it was revealed today by Perspectives Weekly.
Congressman Goodlatte has pushed his UIGEA in Congress over the past several years citing that it must be passed because gambling is immoral. As immoral as it is, he believes horse race betting is the exception to the immoral rule he lives and preaches by.
We are hearing rumors that online gambling is coming back to the US. the CEO from MGM and Harrahs has not only predicted it; he also said they are prepared to jump in, and it would happen in 12 to 18 months.
OK, that’s great news… but my question is WHY was it not legal (and many question that) all along? Why did legislators put the hammer lock on financial institutions and force them to make it next to impossible for US players to get the same enjoyment that the rest of the World gets?
