The great equalizer visits New York’s Belmont Stakes! [gplus count="true" size="Medium" ]

All this week, I felt pretty confident that AK would take this race. It definitely was his to lose! The race between between AK and Shackleford proved to be the ONLY thing to consider.

After all, S loves the front end, but can’t hold on… AK loves to come from behind to take the win… especially since the Belmont is the longest race of the Triple Crown at a mile and a half!!

How could a come-from-behind horse with the stamina of AK NOT win???

Answer: When the great equalizer comes to the track!

The Weather!

It’s a mess there as I write this. Not only is it a sealed muddy track, but it’s compacted! I’ve watched the early races there today, and it’s obvious to me that front runners rule the day!

So, with that said…

Here are my picks for today’s Belmont Stakes IN A VERY LOOSE ORDER:

1 – Brilliant Speed – Pedigree, Stamina, BS has it! Was forced wide in KD – expect much better here.

2 – Animal Kingdom – just too good to ignore – but can’t catch the winner in this slop!

3 – Master of Hounds – why did the 5th pl KD finisher ship home to Ireland and then ship back here for this????

4 – Prime Cut – The early challenger to Shackleford without a doubt, and may the leader at the first turn.

5 – Shackleford – I’d like him more if he had a better Post Position, because he’ll be pushed at the start.

6 – Nehro – If you’re playing the exotics (and you should in a 3Crown race), this bridesmaid must be included.

7 – Santiva – Has early speed, so cannot be ruled out if speed counts as much as I think it will today.

So,

I’ll play AK to PLACE behind my other first 4 picks and ahead of them as well for the trifecta and superfectas. Then AK to SHOW behind them. Throw in a mix of all the picks above and you’re looking at some expensive tickets. So, throw darts, flip coins, meditate and play the odds OR do some serious handicapping, and you’ll get paid with those above…

Ah Yes… there’s nothing like real humans!

The Roulette tables were packed… so, I sat down at the Rapid Roulette game in the Venetian (where the minimum was only $5 as opposed to the tables $15 and up)… gave them $200 to get started. I had given the new Roulette System I told you about a vigorous workout in class and online before trying it for real. (Remember, I’ve always told you to stay away from roulette).

I had a class on the system earlier, and the students also went out to try it. None stayed here at the Venetian because the minimum bet was too high for the first time out. I’ll let you know how they did when I find out.

Okay – the layout at the “Rapid Roulette” game is weird – it’s Yellow and Red – not Black and Red and after your “deposit” shows up at your position, you have to touch the various dollar amounts and then touch the spot(s) on the screen representing your bet placements on the Roulette layout.

So, I placed the correct bets according to the system I’ve been studying and got off to a fine start by first betting the minimum ($5 on each of the outside bets). By the way, it’s soooooo difficult for me to bet at all on Roulette. So even $10 was painful for me – lol.

The first six bets went pretty well… I was up from the very first spin of the wheel.

Then it happened… the seventh spin! I had $7 on Red and $7 on Row one… the dealer spins the ball and it’s screaming around the outside of the wheel, slows down and stops on Red 7 in the first row. I then started writing in my book – my intention is to document the system – win or lose! After each outcome, I have to calculate my next bet and document that too!

While I was busy writing and calculating my next bet, I looked up and they already began the next spin. They hadn’t paid me – or rather, the software hadn’t paid me. I called them over, explained (and showed them my bets) and they apologized and paid me.

That was the end for me! I have too much documenting and calculating on my part to have to worry about their part too! So, with that small hiccup – I called it off.

I cashed out with $269 – a $69 profit in about 5 minutes – left them a tip for correcting themselves – and walked away – still unsure of the Roulette system. I’ll be testing it more – later on.

Yes, it was inevitable! Someone had to prove that computers once again are superior to human experts. They did it in 1997 when IBM’s Deep Blue beat World Chess Master Gary Kasparov.

So now, a group of professors at the University of Alberta has developed “Polaris”, a computer with the ability to beat humans in Poker. The best news is this:

1) The computer lost in July – but the Profs say they’ll correct that “mistake”.

2) It’s only affective in one-on-one, limit games. Surprise! The profs are hard at work to fix that too. They claim it will soon annihilate all players in no-limit, multi-handed games as well.

But, you say… there are built-in “filters” to detect computer enhanced play. They can’t get away with that! But those human-hating professors are building in a randomizer to make the computer appear human – except for one thing… it will never lose!

So, when you see that you just can’t beat that player across the table, it just might be R2D2 and not GrammaJones. What do you think about this development? Fair? Clever? … it is at least one thing: inevitable!

So, if you’re not the “Magic” kind of person… then, use Science when betting the game of Roulette!

First, let me say that I don’t play Roulette seriously… I do it occasionally for a break from my favorite games (by now, you should know my favorite three games – if not, keep reading – you will!)

But, when I do play, I use science rather than instinct, luck, and history. I don’t trust my bankroll to instinct, I believe that luck is fickle, and I know that the ball has NO memory.

So, where does Science come in?

Here’s a clue! Pick a number on the wheel…

How do you pick the right number…. more on that later.. but, for now…. just pick ANY number.

Let’s say you pick 27.

Now what?

Easy – select the two numbers on the wheel that surround number 27… those would be: 00, 1, 10, and 25. Now you put your bets on those 5 numbers.

But, you say how much should I bet?

Aha – MORE Science… and I’ll cover that next time.

By betting on that larger piece of the wheel – you’ve increased your chances of hitting.

Then, you make your next bet based upon the outcome of that previous bet (we’re getting into a system now – that I’ll explain it great detail later)

If I were you I wouldn’t get too excited only about the hole card trick, as it’s something that most people just won’t have the patience to implement properly. For those few who will really learn to use it effectively though, it’s a loaded weapon.

Anyway, there’s a lot to be gained from this, and the free newsletter is pretty insightful too (the tips in it are mainly geared towards newer players, but there’s some stuff in it that would be good advice for any level of player to listen to).
