I’ve been away for some time now, and I’ve been hoping I could return to this blog with some great news.
The news is not great, but it IS good!
The battle for reversing the UIGEA is heating up, and the positive outcome is within sight.
It’s been understood for many months (even since the UIGEA was quietly and covertly slipped into the notorious “Patriot Bill” - and therefore became “law”) that the law is lame (and uninforceable) for a number of reasons. Read the rest…
Last Friday, I had a conversation with a good friend, and while I was trying to defend Sports Betting (actually gambling of all kinds), he was taking the high-moral stance of; “gambling is bad”. I would have expected more from a Raider’s fan! Read the rest…
The Preakness Stakes will be contested at Pimlico Race Track in
Baltimore, MD this Saturday, May 17th, 2008.
As I reported, Recapturetheglory was removed from the race due to “Fever”. So, that left Big Brown to be the only Kentucky Derby horse to attempt The Preakness (first time since Citation, 60 years ago).
With the Triple Crown races fast approaching, I want to make sure you know about a unique documentary film that will be shown in more than 20 theaters over the next few weeks.
The award-winning film is called “The First Saturday in May,” and it features a captivating, behind-the-scenes glimpse of six trainers and their horses as they take aim at the 2006 Kentucky Derby. Barbaro is one of those horses.
The film, produced by John and Brad Hennegan, has won numerous awards and rave reviews at film festivals throughout the country. It will open in 20 theaters Friday, April 18.
When you gamble in a casino or online casino, you are making rapid decisions, any one of which could drastically affect your bankroll. Once you have a good knowledge of the game you’re playing, you apply the rules of your favorite system to gain positive results.
Not so with Sports Betting. Here, it’s not a matter of making those quick decisions on where to place your bets, or how to place your bets or when to place your bets… it’s a matter of careful homework, careful planning, and a solid knowledge base.
In the casino, your action is quick and the results are nearly instantaneous, so here are the deadly four:
Mark the date: February 10, 2008… The day perfection ended!
The NBA Betting System that I’ve been telling you about… Lost!
Yep, they actually lost a selection. This is the first time their
pick lost in Ten Years. Their ten-year record is 1554 - 1. Gee,
that’s kinda hard to report to you: 1554 - 1.
It’s been so much fun reporting NO losses in Ten Years…
that 1554 - 0 was such an amazing accomplishment!
I’ve tried (in my last few posts) to stir up some emotion, some passion in you by exposing the horrid politicians and what they’re trying to do to you… but, it didn’t work… so, back to what I love most: Gambling…
Today, I was reminded of a Gambling Sport that gets NO publicity, no respect, no articles, no forum posts, no ebooks, no videos… no mention anywhere… so, naturally, I’ll do it!
It’s not difficult for me either… because I LOVE this game… I love to watch it, I love to bet on it, I’d love to play it, but they won’t let me because I’m left-handed.
WOW - You’d think that a PERFECT System couldn’t improve… but that would be underestimating the geniuses behind the System. It isn’t enough for them that they own a PERFECT RECORD - Not losing even ONCE in Ten Years…
No, they have added some incredible “improvements”. There have been some people who have requested a refund (can you BELIEVE that??? - I mean - you take their picks everyday and turn them into pure profit - they are 26 - 0 for this young season).
Apparently, there are two reasons for those few who have requested a refund: They don’t understand the US betting system, and it’s too confusing for them - or - they don’t have a big enough betting bankroll for the system.
That seems to be the message we’re getting from the politician behind the “Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act… read the following from the editor of CasinoGamblingWeb.com
Representative congressman from Roanoke, Virgina, Bob Goodlatte, who is responsible for writing the details of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) - which bans illegal forms of Internet gambling and has an exception for online horse race betting - has accepted more than $35,000 in lobbying money from the horse race betting industry, it was revealed today by Perspectives Weekly.
Congressman Goodlatte has pushed his UIGEA in Congress over the past several years citing that it must be passed because gambling is immoral. As immoral as it is, he believes horse race betting is the exception to the immoral rule he lives and preaches by.
One of the best loved tracks in America is set to open on December 26, 2007. If you can’t be there, do the next best thing and study its history, its notoriety, its infamous background, and its glories!
Santa Anita in Arcadia (Los Angeles), California stands alone at the pinnacle of beautiful equestrian racing tracks.
There are few tracks in America with the look and feel of Horse Racing in its most beautiful settings… Hialeah certainly qualifies… but I’d be hard-pressed to name another!
How to Bet
In the United States sports betting is only legal in the state of Nevada but more wagering is done on sporting events than any other form of gambling. Offshore sports sites, illegal bookmaking operations, office pools and bets amongst friends and sports fans make it the number one gambling activity.
The casino Sports books make their money on sports bets by collecting a commission on losing bets. This is called the Vigorish or Vig for short. The most common odds are 11 to 10. This means that if you want to win $100 you are risking $110. For example you place a bet on the Giants at the casino sports book and pay $110. If the Giants win you collect $210 when you cash your winning ticket. If you lose your bet you lose the $110.
Ideally the Sports book would like to have the same amount of money wagered on the two teams playing.
Oh Crap! If the politicians can’t get rid of Gambling, then they’ll just tax the hell out of it!
Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) and Jim McDermott (D-WA) have introduced the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act and Internet Gambling Regulation and Tax Enforcement Act, companion pieces of legislation, to regulate and tax Internet gambling activity.
The legislation would require licensed Internet gambling operators to put in place safeguards to protect against underage and compulsive gambling and ensure the integrity of financial transactions. Taxation of Internet gambling is expected to generate between $6 billion and $25 billion in revenues for the U.S. Treasury in the first five years of enactment.
Hmmmm. safeguards against compulsive gambling???? If I owned a big Casino, I could sure use that Gov’t help! If someone were winning too much, I’d call him “compulsive” and ban him! WooHoo!
I attended an event this weekend, and when the word got out to the group that I was a Gambler… the stories began. Everyone seems to have a funny story about their Gambling adventures, and this one really cracked me up…
Robert was often found at the local Greyhound Track. He admits that he was a regular there. I too found the attraction unavoidable. If you’re a good speed handicapper, Dog Racing is your gamble of choice. In Dog Racing, NOTHING beats pure speed. Robert liked the dogs because he’d observed a Jockey pulling back (obviously with ALL his might) on his mount at the local Horse Racing Track. It seems the horse was in front by two full lengths when the Jockey applied the brakes. “Dogs don’t carry those Damn Jockeys” said Robert.
I really like this post, and wanted to post it here for my readers too. This guy is impressive…. I think he’s nailed the upcoming season…. So read and keep:

It’s me, Joel, for better or worse, posting about the NBA. Volunteer football depresses me and since Thomas is about to celebrate a Red Sox World Series ring (Congrats! The Sox did it about 6 minutes ago - Buzz), I’m posting about something that’s not long and drawn out, the NBA season!!! Yes that’s right, a league that is full of gamblers (refs), adulterers and snitches (Kobe), bloggers (Gilbert), best point guard who happens to not be American (Nash), Hasselhoff loving German (Dirk), guy who brags about not snitching (Carmelo), Frenchman married to an overexposed former Y&R actress (Parker), and owners who get more young ass than the toilets at The Clevelander on South Beach (Dr. Buss and Mickey Arison). The NBA, I LOVE this game!!!
