Gambling has always been mentioned with Las Vegas in one breath. Nowhere has gambling been as lucrative and as consuming as it is in Las Vegas. Thus, Las Vegas is called the gambling capital and rightly so.
However, the introduction of the internet has proven that traditional gaming venues are becoming passe – or at least unnecessary.
Thus, here is a rundown of a few of the best gambling spots that you can find online. A word of precaution to the buyer. . .be careful.
It seems there’s another outlaw in town. A site that has been “friendly” to US Poker Players might have been wearing a Black Hat!
“Ultimate Bet” is now under investigation for cheating.
If that weren’t bad enough, UB is solely owned and operated by Tokwiro Enterprises ENRG, Route 138, Kahnawake, Quebec J0L 1B0, and is operated from the sovereign nation of the Mohawks of Kahnawake, located near Montreal Quebec.
It is illegal to hail a cab in LV. There are taxi stands and every hotel has taxi pick-up and drop-off areas. You must go to one of those. The drivers will ignore you standing in the middle of the street waving at them. Instead, get to a driveway, there, they can turn in, get out of traffic, and let you jump in. One more thing; don’t try to pay the driver with chips. They won’t take them, and they won’t take credit cards either. It’s a cash town outside of the casinos! In fact, chips are rarely used outside of the casino… for anything!
Las Vegas has one of the finest Monorail Systems in the World! You can go from one end of the strip to the other, and get off at virtually any Casino. A single trip ticket will cost you $5.00, or you can buy a 10-trip ticket for $25.00.
Here’s a great time saver… the Harrah’s Group will let you check in to one of their hotels… AT THE AIRPORT! Harrah’s, Caesars, Bally’s, Horseshoe, Flamingo, Imperial Palace, and Rio all offer this great service… take advantage of it!
We’re almost there: The Final Twelve will be named for this season’s American Idol betting extravaganza. For online bookmakers, this translates into potentially millions of dollars in wagers that help fulfill a sometimes lackluster April and May once March Madness becomes an after thought. “American Idol betting is huge for us!” proclaimed one gambling website employee during our weekend visit to Costa Rica, the Internet gambling capital of the world. “It’s amazing how many people bet on this show.”
For Sportsbook.com the gearing up for American Idol betting will include for the first time ever elimination odds. And for the American Idol fan, it’s good to know the Sportsbook.com oddsmakers will be at a disadvantage.
“We don’t get the American Idol feed down here in Costa Rica,” says Dave Stanley, Sportsbook.com’s spokesperson. “So we will not necessarily have a grasp on how certain Idol hopefuls really perform each week.”
May 10, 2006 — WMR reported on April 21 on a major cocaine shipment, using a CIA proprietary aircraft, that landed in Mexico en route from Caracas, Venezuela with 5.5 tons of cocaine on board.
The pilot was reported to have “escaped” from Mexican police. U.S. and foreign neo-con propaganda organs immediately tried to link the aircraft, a DC-9 that was sold to unknown persons in Venezuela by a Clearwater, Florida-based firm called Royal Sons, LLC, to Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez and Colombia’s FARC guerrillas.
The plane was painted in the colors and bore an insignia similar to those used
by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The insignia identified the aircraft as “Sky Way Aircraft.”
It has now been revealed by knowledgeable sources that Sky Way is affiliated with an off-shore company called DuPont Fund 57289, Inc., headed by a “Richard DuPont, Jr.,” who likely does not exist.
DuPont Fund is not affiliated with the DuPont business group or any subsidiaries of the multinational chemical firm.
About an hour or so after I read the article about the Judge (?) in Pittsburgh who ruled (and that’s a whole lot more than opined) that Poker is a game of chance and NOT of skill,
(BTW – read my previous post to get the whole story)
… along comes the Poker Players’ Alliance with a plan to get the game classified as a game of skill.
… so I wrote a book! It began as I searched and searched for a bargain to get to Las Vegas for an event that was starting that very day… the search fascinated me as much as the results… read on to see what I discovered:

PORTLAND, Ore.—Sensing his best years may be drawing to a close, [tag-self]Greg Oden[/tag-self] is considering hanging up his sneakers for good and opting out of the last seven years of his contract with the [tag-self]Portland Trail Blazers[/tag-self]. While many analysts thought the seven-foot center might retire in the coming years, most thought he would play up to three seasons in the [tag-self]NBA[/tag-self] before calling it quits.
OK… I’ve held my tongue (or pen) long enough… I’m sick about the TBs fortunes. First, let me tell you that I live here in Portland, and I try to be a good fan in all situations… BUT, this Greg Oden thing has me perplexed!
Of course I’m sad, of course I’m angry, of course I’ve made the comparison of the ancient story of Sam Bowie…
If there’s a bright side to this tragedy… it’s that it will make the TBs richer following next year’s draft. Look, they are doomed now to be bottom feeders again… they gave away their top player to make room for the new Big Guy (Greg Oden).
Washington D.C. – The Poker Players Alliance (PPA), headquartered in San Francisco, will soon be changing locations and leadership. In the coming weeks, the PPA will move its headquarters to Washington D.C. where the organization can be more central as it continues to fight to clarify federal laws that impact the rights of Internet poker players.
Michael Bolcerek has stepped down as president of the PPA and will remain in San Francisco with his family to pursue other opportunities in the Bay Area. John Pappas has assumed the position of Executive Director of the PPA and will lead the organization’s efforts in Washington. Prior to taking an in-house role as the organization’s Vice President of Government Affairs in May, Pappas served as an outside consultant to the PPA since 2005. Former New York Senator Alfonse D’Amato will continue to serve as Chairman of the PPA.
“This is an exciting time for the PPA and our members. The PPA has become an influential force fighting for the rights of poker players to enjoy this game of skill. There is wide support and momentum in the U.S. Congress to enact sensible legislation to regulate online poker and provide the necessary safeguards to all players. It is vital that the PPA centralize its efforts in D.C. so we can best serve the interests of our 660,000 plus members,” said Senator Alfonse D’Amato.
Combine two of man’s greatest interests and you’ve got something called “sports gambling.” What could be more ingenious? Imagine a group of men cheering over their favorite team, and almost always, bets are placed along with the noise. Think about it. With every sport, there are always certain highlighted games everyone’s talking about; something that, according to sports buffs, will “Change the course of history.” In order to get some of the action, spectators usually attempt to guess who will win in the upcoming games. This all turns into a friendly little “game” called sports gambling.
Sports gambling is really just for fun and a way to bond with your friends. You can bet a little amount of money and still have a good time. Sports gambling makes the outcome of a game more meaningful and the whole duration of the game more thrilling and exciting. Here are some basics to get you started on sports gambling.
To place a bet, all you have to do is go to a sportsbook, which is a place that accepts sports bets. In the United States, there are four states where you can do sports gambling legally, but illegally, you can do it anywhere so long as you can find a bookie AND you are of legal age (over 21).
There are many systems available for the Roulette Bettor. I will write about a few of them – but with this warning: Few games in the Casino have worse odds than Roulette. Played for a long period of time, Roulette will break you. However, it can be a successful betting opportunity if you keep it to a short period of time.
That being said, this system is hot. You could argue that you’ll have nearly one-third of the wheel covered with only 5 units bet.
The system calls for bets on 10 numbers. These numbers are spread evenly throughout the Roulette wheel, and use just 5 chips. The idea behind this system is that all parts of the wheel are covered. It doesn’t matter what part of the wheel hits. We have 10 chances in 37 (or 38 in the case of an American (00) wheel) of getting a hit.
