Gamblers Get the Blame, but Never the Credit!
September 25, 2008 5:23 pm Gambling Law, My POVIt’s little wonder that a good percentage of the public believes that gambling is bad, that gambling leads to crime. People like her think they’ll get sympathy and a lesser punishment if gambling is behind their crime spree.
Well BullS***, gambling leads to marriage (if you’re so inclined), gambling leads to cooking (if you’re so inclined), gambling leads to buying the american dream (a house) and that of course leads to more gambling (by selecting a loan – and we all know what a gamble that is).
If you read my blog regularly, you know my beliefs are right out there for you to buy into or reject – that’s totally up to you!
But, I KNOW that insurance is gambling, I KNOW the stock market and the commodities markets are full of gambling opportunities. And I KNOW that those industries are full of gamblers (called speculators… as if THAT were more acceptable????)
So, whether you gamble on Main Street or on Wall Street, accept what you do as gambling, and be proud of it!
BUT, if your “thing” is stealing, accept that too, and stop blaming it on gambling, you might hurt some stock broker’s feelings!
Yes, dear reader, I’m sick and tired of being the brunt of the criminals’ makeup.

I agree with you completely.
There really is no difference between gamblers on Wall Street and those called the real gamblers.
Gambling is not bad, but because of such cases is has a bad reputation.
