Derby Trial winner Macho Again is in for Saturday’s 134th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.

I predicted that Recapturetheglory was not talented enough to take on the Preakness, and it proved correct. Although, the connections stated the defection is due to “a slight fever” and “a throbbing in his right, front toe” Right, Front Toe???? Anyway, he didn’t belong there, and those are as good excuses as any.

That means Big Brown will run the Preakness without ANY of his Kentucky Derby brothers. This hasn’t happened since Citation did it 60 years ago. Is Big Brown THAT good? Or is the stock of 3 year olds below par? Time and time will tell: that is, we may know Saturday… and the finishing time will be recorded and compared to past Preakness times.

There are a dozen horses in the race Saturday, not one! And eleven of them are rested and ready… is Big Brown?

I’m hoping for a slop track so Big Brown can get beat. I’m trying to put together two longshots in my last 2 game. Anyone playing it for the Preakness?
