A Dozen will meet in The Preakness Stakes
May 11, 2008 1:37 am Horseracing HandicappingHey Byrn, Icabad Crane and Riley Tucker were added to the list of starters for next Saturday’s Preakness Stakes at Pimlico.
The Preakness field is now up to 12.
Trained by Eddie Plesa, Hey Byrn won Gulfstream Park’s Grade III Holy Bull on April 12. His Preakness jockey hasn’t been announced.
Icabad Crane, Pimlico’s Federico Tesio winner who is trained by Graham Motion, will be ridden by Jeremy Rose.
Trainer Bill Mott’s Riley Tucker, who has finished in the money in six of his seven career starts, will be ridden by Edgar Prado.
Undefeated Harlem Rocker is expected to work today at Belmont Park, after which trainer Todd Pletcher will decide whether to enter him in the Preakness.
“The only horse that I could have respect for going into the race would be Todd’s white horse (Harlem Rocker),” said Rick Dutrow, trainer of Derby winner Big Brown.
