Cake Online Poker Review

Carbon Rake Back is one of the newest online poker sites on the internet, but also one of the most promising of the newly released. It is based on the Poker.com skin, and is in fact a reincarnated version, since the Poker.com team is unable to advertise its business in the United States. We therefore regard to it as the “new” Poker.com. The software is superb, fast and flexible, comes bundled with Blackjack and Backgammon and all the vital functions and filters you can think of when you play at the tables, or when you browse through the lobby. It also features very soft competition and comes with a great variety of games, including rarities like Razz and 5 Card Draw. It is, however, not very competitive today as its traffic rates are far too low to stay in the game with giants like Full Tilt Poker and Titan Poker. Therefore, it lacks a few serious promotions and tournaments.

Software (9)

Carbon Rake Back is using the perfected software of the Poker.com network and is also the second to do so. It is fairly unknown to the average poker player, but regardless of its lack of its status, this room is indeed based on the highest quality software you can think of. It is based fully on a Flash module, meaning that aside from being a low-weighting program, it is also resizable with no image quality loss as a direct result. Aside from just looking good, Carbon Poker offers everything from player notes to custom chat icons to excellent lobby filters. Features are dwelling here, although the table isn’t as customizable as some other sites, but still good. All in all, there is little to complain about.

Daniel Negreanu: Don’t sweat the small stuff at the poker table

I like to peruse the Full Contact Poker online forums to read and comment on posts about interesting poker hands and whether they were played properly. I find that many of the contributors consistently suffer from the same problem: They are far too preoccupied with statistically insignificant aspects of a poker hand.

Poker rakeback | What Are You Waiting For?

November 10, 2008

What is poker rake and Why is it So Important For Poker Players?

Rakeback is a term that refers to a refund on the rake that you pay when you are playing at a poker table. For any online poker site that you visit, the house takes a portion of every pot that you play. This portion is referred to as a rake and it is what the house does in lieu of actually being involved in the game the way they would be in casino poker. The rake is something you can not get away from as it basically represents the fee taken from the players by the house because the house puts on the game, hosts the accounts and invests their money into the creation of a poker website.

The rakeback is not always going to be equivalent to the rake that you give to the house and in fact in most cases will be quite a bit less than the rake that you give to the house. A typical rakeback would be in the 15% to 20% range, while a really good rakeback would be in the 35% range. However, if you become a prop player for a website that needs to have players in seats to get games going, you will find that the rakeback you receive is quite a bit higher and in fact can go to levels of 120% from websites that are grateful for your presence and your help. However, all of the larger and more established websites do not need prop players and that is why the typical rake back range mentioned above exists.

Practical Tips to Knowing About High Low Stud Poker Game

Uncategorized No Comments

The explosion in popularity of hold’em was a major factor in the decline of Seven-Card Stud (high). The increased bluffing possibilities in hold’em, along with a perception of Stud as a “fold fest,” dramatically reduced the number of Stud players.

High-Low Stud, however, has more of a following, as it should. High-low has many more subtleties than high-only, and there is usually much more action. And for those who love to bluff, high-low can satisfy the craving.

There are two basic ways to define the best low hand. In many casinos, A-2-3-4-5 (a “wheel”) is the best, as straights and flushes do not disqualify the low hand. In other venues, however, a straight or flush cannot be played as a low, so A-2-3-4-6 is the best low. When in doubt, ask the dealer before beginning play so as to avoid a very costly mistake!

Top Pair On the River

What to do when you’re holding top pair against one or two opponents on the river. All the cards are out. Now you have to decide whether to check or bet, or if your opponent acts first, whether to call, fold or raise.

Some opponents will almost always bet top pair on the river, unless there is a strong threat of a flush or straight. Others seldom bet one pair for value, even when the board is not threatening. Most, however, fall somewhere in between, and treat this situation as a judgment call. There is no formula to determine the best course of action, but there are some things you can do to clarify your decision.

Suppose you hold A-K, raised before the flop, and had two callers. You bet the flop and the turn. Now the board shows A-Q-4-7-9 of mixed suits. All the cards are out and it’s your turn to act. Do you bet or check?

Texas Hold Em Poker

Uncategorized No Comments

If you’ve been playing poker for a while and think you may be ready for a new version of the game, you may want to try Texas Hold em poker. You can play online or at a casino in your area, so here are a few tips that will help you to get more familiar with the game.

Texas Hold em poker usually involves nine or ten players; if you’re playing with less people, the game may be referred to as short hand. At the beginning of the game, a card is dealt to each player, and the player with the highest card is the first to deal. After one round of the game, the dealer position moves to the left. During the game, each player is dealt two cards which are called hole cards. These cards belong to the player, and five other cards, which are community cards, are dealt face up for all the players to see. Players will use these community cards to pair with their two hole cards in order to create a profitable hand.

There are three main variation of Texas Hold em poker, but if you travel to a casino in Vegas or Biloxi, you may find that there are more varieties you want to try. Limit Texas Hold em is named as such because there is a set amount of money you can bet for each game. This type of game is ideal for players who are just learning the game, since the amount only changes with a new game or new round of betting. No Limit Texas Hold em poker allows any of the players to bet all their chips at any time in the game, and Pot Limit Texas Hold em poker allows each player to be able to bet what is in the ‘pot’, or central betting hold for the game. When it comes to betting, a player at the table has to place a ‘blind’ or a small bet to get the game started. The bet is usually for half of the smaller end of the overall bet, so you may want to play for small amounts at first until you become more comfortable with your playing skills.
